Dental implants are an excellent way to replace missing teeth. An implant is essentially a metal replacement root that is threaded into the jaw bone. The implant is then allowed to heal and integrate with the jaw bone over a period of several months. Once healing is completed, the implant is restored with an abutment and crown. Implants can also be placed to help hold a denture or partial in place for increased retention and stability.
