Porcelain crowns
Crowns are commonly called “caps” and are placed to restore a tooth's function and appearance. There are various reasons crowns are necessary to restore a tooth. Extensive tooth decay or a large failing filling will affect the tooth's structural integrity, necessitating a crown. Teeth that have severe cracks or fractures are restored with crowns. Crowns can also be placed for cosmetic reasons in order to cover stains or discolorations. Crowns can be used to replace a missing tooth as part of an implant.
